Lamar Alexander and Senator Jeff Bingaman of the
Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, with
endorsement by Representative Sherwood Boehlert and
Representative Bart Gordon of the House Committee on
Science, to respond to the following questions:
What are the top 10 actions, in priority order, that
federal policymakers could take to enhance the sci-

OPIC - Overseas Private Investment Corporation

We have all heard of the Export / Import Bank (EXIM). We have heard of vague references to trade manipulation, balance of payments, debtor nations, World Bank, World Trade Organization (WTO), violent protests around the world, including Seattle (who were those people?), etc. Few have heard of OPIC. Overseas Private Investment Corporation is a department of the United States Treasury. Immediately you may wonder why “Private” and United States are associated in the same sentence. I was curious. It’s exactly what you think.

Newsweek's cover story, The Road to Recession we are starting to see mainstream economic pundits realize the U.S. is in much more serious trouble as implied by this foreboding Newsweek article title U.S. Economy at the Guillotine

The Great Global Market Freak-Out of 2008 has everyone asking whether the United States—already on the road to recession—is entering into a protracted period of economic trouble where jobs will be slashed, prices will continue to rise and the dollar will keep falling; and if so, whether the declining U.S. economy will pull the rest of the world down with it

United States Universities Subsidizing The Competition

The below video exposes the University of Michigan recruiting and educating foreign nations in fields where companies are now laying off Americans. The video points out this is paid for by the US taxpayer, which begs the question, why is the US taxpayer subsidizing it's own economic destruction and why are our Universities, that we pay for, promoting this?
