Senator Chris Dodd Calls for GM CEO's Firing

Off with His Head! That's what Senator Chris Dodd is now saying.

Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd said General Motors Corp. Chief Executive Richard Wagoner should be replaced as a condition of federal aid and Chrysler LLC may have to merge to survive.

“You’ve got to consider new leadership,” Dodd said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” Wagoner, he said, “has to move on.”

Asked if a change in leadership should be a condition of a bailout, Dodd who is helping to write the legislation, said, “I think it is going to have to be part of it.”

“Chrysler, is, I think, basically gone, probably ought to be merged,” Dodd said. Ford Motor Co. is the healthiest domestic automaker, he said.

Below is the Face the Nation video clip with Dodd.

But you want to see something absurd, flat brain Thomas Friedman is saying the Big 3 Auto Executives are brain dead. Now is Mr. Economic Fiction Clueless having a serious case of projection? Hows that flat world theory working out so far? Could it be that Thomas Friedman is getting even for having his own brain run over by a Mac Truck?

How does this guy even get on the air? He's an imbecile! He has no background in economics, especially the management of a global company, none!

This is also something I find frightening for so often our Congress cannot even add together the number of guest worker Visas they are voting on. Do they really have the expertise to determine the executive staff of a major corporation?
I agree GM has been doing absurd things and they have also offshore outsourced jobs en masse, including advanced R&D. Right at this moment have billions and billions of dollars invested in plan building by GM, in both China and India.

But that said, Congress cannot even manage to pass sane legislation based on real economic theory and even worse, where was the call to fire CEOs in the $700 billion financial bail out?

Dodd is also calling for a merger/acquisition of Chrysler.
It's fairly obvious Chrysler needs to be strongly restructured and they also need to carve out a different niche market. Beyond selling off sections to China and discontinuing brands and jobs I don't hear them talking about this.

Somehow I do not think America needs more idle factories and more laid off workers and more heavy equipment and advanced manufacturing technology being sold at auction and shipped to China.

Thomas 'My EKG is Flat' Friedman is...

...a multi-billionaire thru marriage. I would no more give credence to anything this assclown has to say, nor will I even comment on same he's so out of it, than I would believe what George W. Bush utters. They are both deranged idiots who understand very little.

Ignore this rich fool.
