It's Friday Night! Party Time! Time to relax, put your feet up on the couch, lay back, and watch some detailed videos on economic policy!
Tonight's documentary is Shadow Company, a 2006 film about the mercenary and private military company industry. Private contractors poured over Iraq and elsewhere and to this day we have trillions going to private contractors via the DoD, DHS and other government agencies.

Also, we received the below email about a new documentary where the filmmakers are asking people to donate so they can update the film. Below is the text.
I'm the Outreach Coordinator for a new documentary called "Heist: Who Stole the American Dream?". "Heist" offers an incredibly lucid primer on the history of the U.S. economy from the New Deal to the financial crisis of 2008, and we believe that making this information available to the public is critical to the success of the Occupy Wall Street movement. "Heist" just had it's World Premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival in Northern California, where it had three sold out screenings, and was also screened at Occupy Marin this past Monday. More than ever, we know that "Heist" is a important and necessary primer on the economic crisis and we're eager to get it to audiences across the country as quickly as possible.
This week, we are back in the editing room to update the movie with Occupy Wall Street footage and to create a shorter version for OWS organizers to distribute to their constituents and to screen to the public. We are encouraging everyone to contribute to our IndieGogo campaign (http://www.indiegogo.com/Heist-Who-Stole-the-American-Dream) so that the finishing touches can be completed and we can get DVDs into the hands of OWS members across the country in the next two weeks. Since "Heist" and The Economic Populist address some of the same issues, we would greatly appreciate a mention on your blog, and perhaps even Facebook and Twitter, encouraging people to check out the film and the IndieGogo campaign. In return, we would be happy to feature a link to your blog on our Facebook page. If you need more information about the film, feel free to contact me or visit www.heist-themove.com.
