Vice-President Elect has a new middle class task force
Task force members will include the secretaries of labor, health and human services, education, and commerce, as well as the directors of the National Economic Council, the Office of Management and Budget, the Domestic Policy Council and the head of the Council of Economic Advisers
Here are some past task force efforts of Vice Presidents.
- Cheney - Energy
- G.W. Bush - Reduce Regulation
- Gore - Reinventing Government
The only one on this list who had any effectiveness was Al Gore.
So my question is why is the VP taking on the economic issues of the middle class instead of the President? This should be first and foremost their top priority.
Even more frightening is Biden claiming to be involved in these cabinet positions, many of which are assuredly not middle class advocates.
Here is the agenda:
The White House Task Force on Working Families, to be headed by Vice President-elect Joe Biden, would aim to boost education and training and protect incomes and retirement security of middle-class and working families
As many times stated on EP, education and training is a classic corporate agenda blow off response, ignoring the reality the U.S. has the best universities in the world and the highest educated workforce at the college level.
Ya know, there are many folks out there with true policies in the areas of trade, outsourcing, taxes, educational costs, retirement, consumer credit...the list goes on and on, but ya ain't gonna help the middle class while putting corporate representatives and corporate/special interests and their policy demands first in policy agenda.
