Friday Movie Night - Odds & Ends, Rants & Screams

hot buttered popcorn It's Friday Night! Party Time!   Time to relax, put your feet up on the couch, lay back, and watch some detailed videos on economic policy!

This week are odds and ends, documentaries and videos which are short, yet still pack an economic punch.

Bill Moyer's interviewed Economist Bruce Bartlett. If you think this is just another Republican slant rant view you are dead wrong. Barlett is really calling cash on the insanity of the Republican party, Grover Norquist and our favorite, the absolute disastrous economic agenda. Thank God, a few people still trump facts over philosophy.

Next is a short BBC documentary on poor America. We know the statistics, yet seeing up front and personal families living like rats in storm drains brings reality home. Unfortunately, the myths perpetuated by media, pundits and politicians on life in America today, create a denial bubble where we can then turn a blind eye. This is America folks.

Next up is a short segment from the Dylan Ratigan show on student debt. This is truly incredible. To get a college education today, one is literally entering debtor's prison.

Students drowning in debt, chained to the debt machine was also covered well by ABC news:

Finally, if you want to get creepy, more and more U.S. viewers are being blocked from watching media overseas and of certain types that others can see. Think it's just China blocking the Internets, think again and this time the excuse is international copyright law.   O-Rly?  Like DVD regional codes?

Happy frustrating Friday!
