ADP Employment Report Disappoints With 147,000 Private Sector Jobs

ADP's proprietary private payrolls jobs report gives a monthly gain of 147,000 private sector jobs for October 2016.  The reason was a loss of 15,000 construction jobs as well as manufacturing and education.  September's ADP report was revised upward significantly, from 154,000 to 202,000.  Overall, it is possible this report indicates the pace of job growth is slowing, rarely a good thing.

ADP Employment Report Shows 179,000 Private Sector Jobs for July

ADP's proprietary private payrolls jobs report gives a monthly gain of 179,000 private sector jobs for July 2016.  This is less than the 12 month ADP private sector average and about the same as June.  All of the job gains were in the service sectors whereas the goods producing jobs were lost.  The largest gains were in professional and business services with construction jobs contracting.

The ADP Employment Report Defies Recent Economic Trends

ADP's proprietary private payrolls jobs report gives a monthly gain of 182,000 private sector jobs for October 2015.  Manufacturing jobs though are not good with another -2,000 reported lost.  Construction on the other hand really grew with 35,000 jobs gained.  The goods sector overall had the best month since last January.

ADP Employment Report Shows Bad News for Manufacturing

ADP's proprietary private payrolls jobs report gives us another stunted employment preview by reporting a monthly gain of 169,000 private sector jobs for April 2015.  Manufacturing jobs are truly a bad omen with 10,000 reported lost.  Construction on the other hand is still in recovery with 23,000 April jobs gained.

The February 2015 ADP Employment Report Shows a Slow Down in Hiring

ADP's proprietary private payrolls jobs report gives us a monthly gain of 212,000 private sector jobs for February 2015.  January's ADP private payroll gains were strongly revised, from 213,000 to 250,000.  Financial activities had the highest job growth by ADP's records since 2006, while manufacturing only gained 3,000 jobs.

Another Positive ADP Employment Report for November 2014

ADP's proprietary private payrolls jobs report shows yet another solid month of strong private sector job gains.  For November, ADP reports a monthly gain of 208,000 private sector jobs.  October's ADP private payroll gains were a revised 203,000.  Small businesses drove the payroll gains.

ADP Employment Report Shows Healthy Job Gains for September

ADP's proprietary private payrolls jobs report gives us a monthly gain of 213,000 private sector jobs for September 2014.  August's ADP private payroll gains were 202,000.  Manufacturing had the highest job growth by ADP's records since May 2010.  By ADP's survey, this is the sixth consecutive month where their reported private job gains are above 200 thousand.

ADP Employment Report Shows Job Growth Freezes Over

ADP's proprietary private payrolls jobs report gives us a monthly gain of just 139,000 private sector jobs for February 2014.  January was revised downward significantly, from a solid 175,000 jobs initially reported to just 127 thousand for the month.  Moody's blames the weather for the poor showing, which probably is part of the reason.

GDP By Industry for 2012

The BEA has released revisions for Gross Domestic Product by Industry for years 1997 all the way to 2012.  Unfortunately but not surprising, manufacturing was revised downward in their real value added to economic growth.  Overall GDP grew 2.8% in 2012 and that year's better news is private goods GDP increased more in growth in comparison to private sector services.

 

ADP Reports 238,000 Private Sector Job Growth for December 2013

ADP's proprietary private payrolls jobs report gives us a monthly gain of 238,000 private sector jobs for December 2013 and November was revised upward to 229 thousand.  This is the strongest growth for the year and might indicate America is finally seeing some real job creation.  This report does not include government, or public jobs.
